Inspire Youth Enrichment Foundation Grants Second Award of $10K to ElevateMeD Scholar

Inspire Youth Enrichment Foundation Grants $10K to ElevateMeD Scholar, Brianna Spell
This year’s Explosion of a Dream featured two very special guest speakers, Dr. Timothy and Mrs. Alisa Gooding. The duo make up two of the co-founders of the Inspire Youth Enrichment Foundation, an Arizona-based foundation that connected with the ElevateMeD mission in 2021. In that year, their foundation made the decision to present a special award of $50,000 to then fourth-year medical school Caylan Bookman. This award was their first COVID-19 PANDEMIC CRISIS RESPONSE SCHOLARSHIP, designed to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Black communities. Their moving presentation was made virtually as Caylan accepted alongside co-founder Dr. Gregory Umphrey.
This year, the Foundation continued its spirit of giving back to medical students and selected Brianna Spell of Temple University School of Medicine as its second award recipient. Brianna was able to stream the event as the event was taking place. “So I'm so grateful and so blessed to have received this award,” shared Brianna upon hearing that she was selected to receive this special recognition.
“We are so excited about your future…We believe in you…We are looking forward to everything that you are going to accomplish as a physician! ”
The partnership and energy of the Inspire Youth Enrichment Foundation are unmatched, and as an organization, it was invaluable to have them share their joy of impacting a student from this year’s cohort. Brianna shared, “This could not have come at a more perfect time… I'm so thankful to the foundation that donated this to me.”
