Current Career Plan: Become a pediatrician.
Specialty Interest: Pediatrics
I am most proud of my parents for leaving their homes at a young age to a country where they knew no one, didn't have a home, or financial stability, or knew the language. If they surpassed all those challenges, I can do anything I set my mind to. This is why I continue to find ways to give back to my Hispanic community.
You might be surprised to know that I didn't like school as a child, but some special educators throughout my life showed me the beauty in science. It's an example of how early engagement in science and technology can inspire young generations.
ElevateMeD is… a program that builds strong underrepresented physicians. Not only is this program aiding underrepresented minorities like me, but this program is gearing us up with the necessary tools to go out and stop the vicious cycle of generations of disparities.
