How Student Organizations Like @OhioAMSA Help Support ElevateMeD

American Medical Student Association (AMSA) Pre-Med Club
Every year, @OhioAMSA selects a different medical initiative to support and a corresponding non-profit organization to fundraise for.
The 2023-24 Ohio University American Medical Student Association executive board chose the initiative of improving health equity in the U.S. and supporting future healthcare workers for the academic year. Admiring ElevateMeD's commitment to bolstering underserved communities and medical students from underrepresented backgrounds, ElevateMeD was selected as the non-profit to support in 2024.
Over the course of the 2024-24 academic year, @OhioAMSA held various fundraisers on our behalf with the hope of making even the slightest impact in the ElevateMeD Scholars program.

“I believe our AMSA chapter at Ohio University is unique because of the community we have built for each other. While medicine is competitive, we value supporting each other and our other pre-med peers. ElevateMeD stood out to us because they value a cycle of support and guidance among underrepresented communities, and we, as an organization, hope to embody that as well.”
Student organizations like Ohio University American Medical Student Association help us engage bright minds and expand our reach. These organizations are filled with future physicians who will become leaders, thinkers, and doers. We must not only look for ways to partner with these student organizations but also continue to encourage and support them along their physician journey.

ElevateMeD Scholars Program
The ElevateMeD Scholars program provides significant financial assistance to medical students while providing them access to mentorship, leadership training, and financial management education.
