Our goal is to help you understand the mentorship commitment so you can determine if it aligns with your interests and availability.

  • All physicians who volunteer to be an ElevateMeD Mentor are added to the ElevateMeD Mentor Network.

  • Volunteers have the option to opt-in to become a 1:1 physician mentor. (learn more below)

Join the ElevateMeD Mentor Network

Be a resource to the future of medicine by joining the ElevateMeD Mentor Network. ElevateMeD Scholars and applicants from schools across the U.S. utilize the network to connect with physicians to help guide their career development. Mentees may choose to reach out to mentors in the network for many reasons to support their medical careers (including physician’s specialty, region, and/or medical institution affiliation, etc.)

Become a Mentor

OPTIONAL

Each year we match our future physicians with a physician mentor based on specialty, interest and compatibility. Opt-in for the opportunity to become 1:1 ElevateMeD Mentor when you join the ElevateMeD Mentor Network.

  • Invest your time for 1 academic year with an ElevateMeD Scholar. Mentor matching begins in May and one-on-one mentorship takes place July - May of the following year.

    • MARCH - APRIL Open registration to participate in 2026-27 ElevateMeD Mentor Match

      • Recruitment for interested physician mentors begins

      • Physicians in the ElevateMeD Mentor Network that opt in to 1:1 mentorship receive an invitation to register for our annual mentor match via the Together platform. A short registration form is completed to help us make the most successful matches based on mentor experiences and our scholars' needs.

    • MAY ElevateMeD Scholars new cohort is announced and 1:1 Mentor Matching begins

    • MAY/JUN Mentor-Mentee Pairing and email introductions

    • JUL Mentor-Mentee Orientation (virtual)

    • SEP Scholars Summit in Arizona (in-person)

    • OCT Residency Interview Preparation

    • MAR MATCH Week

    • APR Program Exit & last mentorship session

    • MAY Graduation Season

  • 1:1 Mentor Expectations for 2026-27:

    • Attend Mentor-Mentee Orientation (via Zoom) tentatively on Saturday July 25, 2026 at 9AM PT. (virtual attendance required)

    • Attend the 2026 Scholars Summit at The Camby in Phoenix, Arizona the weekend of September 18-20, 2026. Please save the date. The Scholars Summit is a portion of the scholars program that allows ElevateMeD Scholars to engage in-person with their mentors. This meeting is vital to the development of the mentor-mentee relationship. (in-person attendance strongly encouraged)

    • Engage with your scholar regularly (volunteer at least 10 hrs from July - April)

    • Keep track of the time spent mentoring your Scholar monthly.

    • Notify ElevateMeD immediately if you are no longer able to fulfill your commitment as a 1:1 mentor. We will pair your scholar with a new mentor.

    • Notify ElevateMeD if your Scholar is not responsive to your outreach.
