  • I am most proud of where I am now in my journey to pursue medicine, it’s been a long yet the most satisfying path I have ever been on in my life! It’s challenging at times being the first person in my family to pursue medicine. I have met amazing mentors along the way who have shared their wisdom with me and connected me with resources, esp during the pre-clinical years. Now that I am beginning my last year in medical school, I hope to continue to serve as a mentor and give back to students of color pursuing medicine.

  • You might be surprised to know that I have bungee jumped over the Nile river in Uganda!

  • ElevateMeD is… making an impact in the lives of physicians-in-training. In being inducted to the scholars program, there’s an opportunity to find mentorship, which is pertinent to rising fourth year medical students who are making decisions on which specialties to apply for. There’s a lot that goes into application process, which can be daunting in navigating this process. With a built-in-mentors, ElevateMed helps to ease the stress of finding a mentor. In addition to the substantial financial support by generous donors, there’s also financial wellness education component to the program, which id vital. I find these educational courses extremely important adding to my prior knowledge of how to manage my ever expanding student debt burden. Lastly, there are opportunities to connect with peers!
