Scottsdale, Arizona/Atlanta, Georgia- Scottsdale-based nonprofit organization ElevateMeD is proud to announce its third Trailblazer Award recipient, Chiquita Lockley. The ElevateMeD Trailblazer Award is presented to individuals who are making extraordinary contributions within the world of healthcare. The organization will present the award at its annual scholarship fundraising event, Ignite Atlanta, at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
About Elevatemed Awards
Established in 2019, the organization determined it wanted to give recognition to community advocates who are also working tirelessly towards improving healthcare for all. The organization has presented two of its Trailblazer Awards to Dr. Fatu Forna and Larry Fitzgerald, Jr. of The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation.
About CHIQUITA LOCKLEY
Chiquita Lockley is producer and director of the critically acclaimed documentary, Eggs Over Easy: Black Women & Fertility (OWN, Discovery+). She is also the producer of the award-winning documentary Kunta Kinteh Island: Coming Home Without Shackles (PBS). She holds a BA in English from Spelman College and an MA in Film Studies from Emory University.
She specializes in Live Event Production, providing content and creative direction for or that has appeared on: Good Morning America, Amazon Prime, BET, Dove Awards, Stellar Awards, Hank Aaron Chasing The Dream Foundation, The King Center, Human Rights Campaign, Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight, Fox Network, and more.
Chiquita has received numerous awards and recognition for her work in the reproductive health space as a filmmaker, including the Southern Documentary Fund-MacArthur Foundation grant. Resolve: The National Infertility Association, which sponsors National Infertility Awareness Week, honored her with the Hope Award for Advocacy, the highest advocacy award given in the reproductive health space. She also received the Family Building Champion Award from the Cade Foundation. Additionally, she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., where she received the inaugural National Arts Activist Award to commemorate the 50th year of the Arts & Letters Commission. She has the distinction of Goodwill Ambassador for the State of Georgia, and she continues to give back to her community by mentoring Spelman College students and by serving as the Board Chair for the Black Women Film Network- the oldest organization for the preservation and preparation of films by and about Black women.

This year's Ignite Atlanta celebration will herald a memorable night featuring a live DJ, live and silent auction, pre-event networking with an open bar during cocktail hour, and a dinner program featuring remarks from an ElevateMeD Scholar.
