Current Career Plan: specialize in orthopedic surgery and practice in academic medicine
Specialty Interest: Surgical Specialty
I am most proud of co-founding the community service board at my medical school that integrates an intergenerational model among all the 4 classes to pipeline all service events at the institution.
You might be surprised to know that I cut the umbilical cord when my niece was born.
ElevateMeD is… an opportunity to develop leadership skills, gain financial education, decrease debt and build a network filled with supportive peers and mentors who can relate to my experiences as an underrepresented person in medicine.

I chose to pursue a career in anesthesiology because I enjoy moment-to-moment decision making as well as the practical application of physiology and pharmacology. 3% of anesthesiologists are reported to identify as Black/African-American. Of those 3%, the majority are women.
